Hunger looms and we spotted softshelled crab deep frying from a street vendor. Ordered up a couple of those and a sugar doughnut.

Terry Enjoying Larue and Crab Cake
Terry mentioned beer would go good with meal, so i asked the closest vendor, but those good old boys would not sell it to me and even mention they were closed while i see they are having their own drink fest.

Typical Street Vendors
I went back sitting in the street with a tiny stool, but Terry was a little more persistent and ask couple of people that looked like they work around there and a kind little old lady heard the call and walked into the shop where i was denied and brought us beer.
We finished up our snack and beer. Just prior to leaving, i tried to pay for the beer, but they would not accept my money. Who am I to argue? Free beer, wow.

Finding A Place To Stay
Onwards we trotted towards hotel ally and out pops a restaurant owner asking us if we wanted a place to stay? I am always weary about strangers offering deals from the streets. But I do like to take a chance that it turns out for the better and this one did pan out.
A newer building and clean rooms, plus the owner speaks our language.
Hoi An, Vietnam
An interesting start to the day. After arriving early in the morning in Hoi An, we walked to a chain coffee shop so we can get our bearings and book a place to stay. We settled for a homestay outside the Ancient town and walked about 3k and found that there was burning around the homestay and it was not good for Terry ‘s breathing, so we headed out towards another place. Looking lost, a local stopped and ask if we needed help . Good of him to try, but just ended up pointing us at least to the right direction. A french couple even tried and recommended a place near Ancient town.
With our packs weighing on us we set forth to the other place i had GPS. After arriving to the GPS coordinates, that homestay was no where to be found. Another couple chatted with us and they said they were heading into Ancient town and offered us a lift in their taxi. We quickly took advantage of that and got dropped off where they stopped.

Boat Tour, Saigon
Boat Tour, Saigon While walking around Ho Chi Min, we were solicited for a boat tour in the canal. They were asking for the rates of the legit local boat tour operators, which was about $30 to $40 USD, but we manage to get them down to about $20 CAD for the both of us...
