Peak Hike Marmot Basin
This ski town has a great hill that you don’t have to wait for long periods on the weekdays. Marmot Basin has many short runs and some hidden gems left to the locals. Being on the east side of the continental divide, the air is less in the humidity levels, so that relates to dry snow. The fluffy stuff people pay for, at heli-ski resorts.
I coach with the Jasper Freeride Club and get to ski with the jumps and bumps crew. from 5 to 9 years of age, no fear and quick learners make it a fun occupation to hold. My age is getting on and keeping up to these guys and gals is getting tougher and tougher.
These snow demons are going places. Coaching at Marmot Basin is a rewarding past time in our wonderful winters here in Jasper. This is where you will find me when I’m not on the water.
