Anthony, Cross-country Ski

Mt. Leah, Maligne Lake

Cross-country, Maligne Lake

Worst Ski Conditions

Maligne Lake is vast and the activities you can do there is boundless. Sandra and I took Anthony on his first cross-country ski on the lake, and found out the hard way what poor conditions are about. The surface of the lake was frozen, crusty, uneven and blown in snow in the old tracks. Not very good for a beginner to start this sport. But Anthony was a trooper and sucked it up and did 8km. We used the new campsite “hidden cove” as our turnaround spot. The day was fairly cool, about minus 18 celsius and the clouds coming in and out. Even had some sun peeking out once in a while. Other than the shitty conditions of the snow, we had a good day.
